Hey everyone! Sitting down at my desk this morning after being stuck in traffic, in my perfectly ordinary Polo. I couldn’t help but see these again and smile.
I can’t be the only one that does this. If you do, show us! The toys/models anyways, not so much the desk itself.

I’ve probably spent more than I should have on my desk toys. Lol

Nice, I’m jealous. Also, we have the same Hot Wheels Celica!

It’s a home desk...
And the diecast are behind me. (And in desperate need of a dust, now that I look.)

Nice collection! I love the Star Trek as well as the massive garage. Also is that a yellow 510 wagon?(top row)

Only got one so far.

You sir have excellent taste in Automotive transportation and color accuracy of your display devices.

That’s fucking cool

I don’t know if I could have desk toys. If it’s a car I used to own I feel bad and miss it. If it’s a car I want I feel bad that I don’t have it. If it’s a supercar I feel bad that I’ll never have it.
How do you live

Yes indeed—I also have a 620 pickup.

Two of these toys are perfectly attainable. I don’t know if I could ever bring myself to spend over 20k on a car. I absolutely love cars, I think Spyker and Pagani are things of beauty.... but when I really look at it, when I look at what I want? My ultimate car would likely be a Caterham Seven 160.
http://uk.caterhamcars.com/cars/seven-160
I understand and respect the appeal of hyper fast cars, of ultra powerful cars and I am not the biggest tree hugger (though I would appreciate if people would respect the environment)
Fuel economy and cornering performance are my two biggest metrics. I am happy if my vehicle delivers me 18 km/l plus on the Autosnelweg (closest thing to interstate) and gets to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds. My current vehicle fails me on both counts, but it’s only 850KG and has relatively fat tires on it for the size.
I appreciate the toys for what they are, and honestly, even the toys are relatively attainable. If they’re not, they’re just toys and I look at them the same way I look at the beautiful pieces of engineering they are in real life.

Absolutely love it, 10/10 would hoon either daily.

Attainable is one thing, if you can’t actually attain it it hurts all the same. I’d consider the 300ZX and S2000 to be very attainable, but I can’t own three cars! And the fact that I can’t hurts me.
My ultimate car would be a Carrera GT or something. I like cheap cars and fun cars and slow cars just like you, and I love my NA MR2. But I long for more cylinders dancing behind my head.

Current desk collection. Not so much a collection as something for me to fiddle with while I’m on the phone.
None of these are particularly special to me, as I’ve got one of each of these at home already, so if they disappear, no big deal.
Your desk collection is sweet. I’ve got 3 of those, but haven’t tracked down that blue Italian Job Mini yet. I’ve got the red & white versions, but not the blue.

Sounds like it’s time for the camry v6 swap?
(Partial) Joking aside, I understand and I totally get where you’re coming from. There are so many cars I’d love to own, though I’d be happy with just one, sublime car. That’s just like, my opinion/how I feel though.
Everyone is different and I hope you’re able to drive or acquire your dream cars some day.

I’m sensing a theme with most of your collection, but I just can’t put my finger on it. I wonder what it is.

I’m not as big a fan of BMW as the pictures may show. They just happen to be the castings that were available in stores when I decided to pick up some permanent office cars. My home collection spans brands.

Haha, I completely understand. I grabbed some of the random Hot Wheels I brought from the states to bring to work. (and one Matchbox) It’s still definitely a dream garage for me though. I love the colors on the 2002. What’s the Taxi in the back?

It’s the “Time Attaxi”. Combination Time Attack race car and taxi. The right rear door is plastic and has a flat finish to emphasize the beat-up nature of most time attack cars.

I have a real soft spot for Tommi Makinen evos. Street form or rally spec. Also, Mr Burns is looking very devious in that corner, are you aware he’s there?

I’ve increased the desk Minion collection by one since this - the purple gi-wearing one with Japanese sandals. The ones I have except the Japanese one I actually got at McD’s while they were current, and I haven’t gone crazy and off to eBay yet.

I noticed that too! haha

Burns keeps an eye on things. He likes a tightly run ship.

My car, an R34 Xanavi GT500 Skyline, a 12m 3-axle Volvo-Wright SLF Super Olympian. Just added the bus today.

How about a car that you currently own or an attainable one that you plan on having someday?
It’s just using some of the desk space to express yourself...nothing too deep about it. People put their kids’ pictures and stuff like that. I prefer to keep my family private.
![]() 09/19/2016 at 13:52 |

So put an S2000 on your desk? Great-looking car.

At least your kids will (usually) always be there! If I put my current car, one day it will make me sad when I sell it. I get too attached y’see.

MORE cylinders! I’ve had a V6, I want MORE! MORE! Watching Harry’s vid of him cruising Europe in his Testarossa killed me. That should be me!
I think I’m with you. One sublime car would do it.
Hopefully :) Thankfully, many of the cars I like are cheap as chips, the ol’ Japanese sports cars. If I never get a V12, at least there’s those.

Meh, when that happens I’d just change out the scale model/toy for whatever car you replaced it with. We all move on from cars for various reasons.

That Testarossa is beautiful. Maybe someday...
![]() 09/20/2016 at 00:22 |

I guess that would work.
![]() 09/20/2016 at 10:55 |
|
But how do you play with them when they are in those cases???
![]() 09/20/2016 at 11:33 |
|
There isn’t much for me to play with. The Fezza I’d rather play with the 1:1 scale car, the GT-R doesn't roll and the bus is more pleasant to look at than to hold.
